As we head towards summer, blue and off-white room schemes are popping up in several of this spring’s interior design magazines. I just put together several blue and white combinations for a living room, dining room and master bedroom for a Cape Cod client who would like a fresh, airy look without getting too cute, for seaside design schemes.
It’s refreshing to create palettes of blues and off-whites, and it’s really interesting to see many variations of blue fabrics that can be layered and combined to work with each other.
The client requested durable fabrics that will stand up to lots of activity and guests, but that will also look soft and sophisticated. Here are some of the schemes I’ve put together.
This one features dark blues and soft whites for a dreamy, cloud like feeling.
This one looks soft and sandy, with aqua, beige and cream colors and soft textures.
This scheme includes a bold textured fabric with a watercolor feeling, with soft aqua accents.
Lots of wonderful possibilities!
