I’m excited about the calendar of events for Boston Design Week, starting on March 30, 2106. Now in its third year, Boston Design Week keeps getting better and better. Per the Boston Design week web site: “Boston Design Week seeks to increase public awareness and appreciation of all aspects of design, foster recognition of the vital role design plays in our lives, and bring new audiences to a wide array of design industries and organizations.”
Many events fall into three focus tracks:
- Designing Boston – future of architecture, historic preservation, urban planning
- Next! – includes cutting edge design and new design technologies
- Design and Social Impact – sustainable design & design with a social purpose
Events and seminars include “Smarter vs. Bigger” – a discussion of Boston’s best places to live , Design for the Environment/Sustainable Fair at New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University, Design to Make a Difference, Design Showdown Student Competition, plus many, many, more throughout Boston, at the Boston Design Center, and at the Innovation and Design Building.
