Continuing the thread from my February blog, here’s a look at some of the casual and rustic light fixtures that I selected for a farmhouse style home construction project.
The project features horizontal shiplap instead of formal wainscoting, for areas such as the dining room and mud room. Instead of coffered ceilings, simple boxed beams add detail to the ceilings without becoming formal. The floor in the first floor bathroom features a fun and popular patterned encaustic tile. The hardwood floor is finished in a soft grey/brown wash that contributes to the casual look. Framed subway tile for the kitchen backsplash adds tailored and stylish pop to the kitchen.
