Designers specify all sorts of things, from bricks to billiard tables to bathtubs. I chanced upon this freestanding soaking tub while shopping with a client to select fixtures for a bathroom renovation. Its simplicity and beauty are striking. The clean sculptural lines and elegant, swooping design are well executed. It looks more like a work of art than a bathroom fixture!
While looking up the tub’s specs, I found that there is a lot more to it than initially meets the eye. This tub has won several awards, including the prestigious Good Design award, Best of Year Honoree 2013 by Interior Design, a Platinum ADEX award and a Bronze IDEA award.
Made of engineered solid stone, the tub’s construction includes organic and mineral-based materials and is available in matte or gloss finishes to work with many types of natural stone or porcelain tiles, and several types of countertop surfaces. The fact that it looks like a truly comfortable tub makes it even better!
