Looking out my window, things are finally turning green. Leaves and flowers are starting to pop! Greens have been popping up in recent interior design projects too. It’s refreshing to specify green tones in materials such as granite for kitchens or baths, or green paint colors for various rooms.
Recent granite choices include soft green Costa Esmerelda granite for a master bathroom renovation project, and bold Green Marinace for a kitchen in a new construction project. Green Marinace (or Jurassic Green) was formed in river beds, and features slices of stone and pebbles in a green background. Costa Esmerelda offers a softer look that blends pale green with threads of cream, beige, pink or peach, depending on the chosen slab.
I recently selected a soft green paint color for a client’s master bedroom project. I like recommending green colors for bedrooms for a couple of reasons. The right type of green can be serene and peaceful, and when contained within a bedroom rather than being used throughout living areas, creates a specialized, oasis-like feeling. It also ties in well with materials used in adjacent bathrooms (such as Costa Esmerelda granite), and creates lots of beautiful possibilities for draperies, bedding and area rugs that incorporate touches of green as well.
