I just donated a gift basket and gift certificate for interior design consulting to the Homeless Prevention Council Cape Cod fall fundraiser. Tied in with a pickleball tournament in Orleans MA on October 6, the fundraiser will include a silent auction with wonderful items donated by dozens of area businesses and professionals.
Based here in Orleans, MA the HPC “has provided 49,300 people with life-changing assistance, enabling our neighbors to live active and productive lives.” They “provide tools to support residents—from Harwich to Provincetown and in special programs in Yarmouth and Dennis—to keep their housing and attain financial independence.” The HPC organizes several great programs including “Adopt a Family” to ensure that children and families in need have the opportunity to celebrate the holidays with joy, and “Backpack to School” to collect and distribute donated items, to provide fully equipped, high-quality backpacks to children on the Lower and Outer Cape.
