I love many aspects of interior design, but one of my favorite things to specify is tile. Each client and project needs a personalized and unique approach, and for each kitchen or bath project I work on, I generally help clients first select cabinet styles and finishes, then counter top materials, and then tile and paint colors to pull it all together. Clients’ budgets help determine the type of tile to be selected. Beautiful tiles can be found at many different price points.
Accent tiles add a lot of pizzazz and creative detail to bathrooms, tubs/showers, and kitchen backsplashes. The range of options is very wide. Some current favorites include combinations of clear or frosted glass and natural stone in small scale mosaic or mini-brick patterns. The colors in accent tiles help pull a room together, help determine the paint scheme, and add a wonderful finishing touch.
